Royworld - Man In The Machine
Royworld - A four piece indie band from London England, bringing beautifully written music with upbeat and catchy lyrics to their music. The band’s only album to date ‘Man In The Machine’ released in 2008 features some amazing songs the song the released the single 'Dust', which charted at no.29 in the UK. The band’s music has been featured on TV’s E4 hit series ‘The Inbetweeners’ & also has likeness from some of the UK’s indie bands such as ‘The Enemy’ & ‘Kasabian’ also throwing some occasional familiarities from ‘U2’. Songs to look for on the album: Elasticity – Instantly kicks in to an extremely catchy and unique sound. The song was featured on the Christmas episode in the first series of the Inbetweeners. The song creates a very vivid image of summertime in a big city and is definitely a classic driving song, which will instantly get you singing and dancing. Man In The Machine – The title track from the album and possibly one of the best songs off it, straight away kicking into a very ear friendly beat and lyrically amazing. The song was also featured in the first series of the Inbetweeners in the ‘Bunk Off’ episode. The music always give the impression it’s made for the summer and would suit perfectly in a festival type environment. Dust – Probably the most commercial sounding song off the album and would definitely explain why it hit the charts, as soon as the song kicks off it sounds almost like the voice of Bonno from U2 but having said that the song definitely sounds very unique and catchy again a definite one to get up and dance to, or maybe chill in the garden with a few beers and listen too. The band certainly prove that there is definite young talent in the UK and although the majority of the songs sound very commercial the band as of yet haven’t really broke into the commercial scene which feels quite similar to a certain American band (Jimmy Eat World). Ultimately the band creates a very unique and inspiring sound, topped with some absolutely amazing music and is a lyrical charm. A very underrated band but this gem of an album is certainly an instant classic to us. 06/10
